Throwback Tunes…#TBT ( 2Pac – “Keep Ya Head Up” )

The year was 1993 and 2Pac was finally about to let the world know that he was a force to be reckoned with. His second studio album “Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z.“, was officially on store shelves and his 3rd single “Keep Ya Head Up” was about to transform him into the star that he was destined to be. Laced with a Zapp – “Be Alright” sample ( most may remember the sample from H-Town’s – “Knockin’ Da Boots” ) and Dave Hollister assisting with the R&B backdrop, the track raced up the charts. 2Pac showed his depth as an artist and tackled a subject that still today gets looked over and that is praising black women. Throughout the record Pac addressed deadbeat dads, uplifting and respecting black women, and even abortion. Without a doubt, it is one of the greatest hip hop records ever recorded.
