Nicki Minaj Dishes Up Some Controversy Along With A New Street Single

Well first, let me start off by saying that I’m happy to see Nicki back murdering microphones as a rapper.  Nothing against her “Pop music” endeavors, but the “rappingNicki  is who made me a fan.  So Nicki is back and ready to put all her naysayers to rest with her street single, “Lookin’ Ass Nigga“.  Yet as soon as the single came out of the gate, people went to talking, and it wasn’t for how dope the track was. Controversy had reared its ugly head and to my surprise it wasn’t for the abundant use of the word “nigga“, it was actually for the cover art to the single. Let me also clear up, per Nicki, it’s the unofficial cover art for the single. ( yeah Nicki, we know, we would say “unofficial” too if the heat was on us ….lol ).  The single cover portrays Malcolm X, holding a gun, staring out of a window.  The critics felt combining an iconic picture of Malcolm X and a profanity laced rap song was disrespectful to Malcolm’s legacy. Whether you disagree or not, it was enough heat put upon Nicki for her to change  the cover art and take to Instagram with an apology. So as we wait to see how this dust-up plays out over the next few weeks, peep the track below along with the video as well.
