Is it a crazy fact that we are actually at the 32nd release of the Air Jordan shoe. Without a doubt, the Air Jordan is the most iconic shoe ever to hit the market. With a release date almost upon us, the 32nd iteration of the shoe is ready for prime time. With the Air Jordan XXXI (31) paying homage the original Air Jordan I with its design, the Air Jordan XXXII decides to pay homage the Air Jordan II. The Air Jordan II was released back 1987 and its iconic design cues show up in 30 years later in the Air Jordan XXXII. With the Italy inspired Rosso Corsa “Red” colorway poised for the first release on September 23rd, it’s sure to be a big week for the Jordan brand.
Air Jordan VIII “Cool Grey” are getting ready to launch on August 26th,2017. The Air Jordan VIII has always been one of the most popular of the series and with this colorway, I am sure that tradition will continue. With a first time release, the shoe features grey tones throughout the whole upper area, with small hints of white on the midsole and tongue. The VIII’s first made an appearance in 1993, yet 24 years later the “Cool Grey” colorway is sure to energize the series.

The Air Jordan XIII (13) “BRED” is without a doubt, my favorite pair of the iconic Air Jordan series. Even until this day, I can remember how stoked I was back in 1998, to head to the local mall and cop these joints. It is something about the black and red colorway, along with the unique hologram that always bring me back to this shoe. Having been “retroed” back in 2004 and then again in 2013, this makes the third time this popular shoe has been brought back. For all the sneakerheads out there, this is a must cop for 2017. Hit them lines early and jump on them mobile apps, because these will surely sell out within minutes.

Let me be the first to say it, that the Air Jordan 31 will that “sought after” retro when it ages. It has been a hot minute since I have truly had the urge to go cop a newer model pair of Jordans. Whether it was Retro’s, OG’s, or Remastered, I was all for them, yet the newer models have always been overlooked by yours truly. After the XIV (14’s) dropped in 1999, I had pretty much lost interest. I decided to cop the XV (15’s) in 2000,yet I truly don’t know what I was thinking, because we all know them joints were horrendous. Lastly I jumped on the XVIII (18’s) in 2003, and completely gave up on any newer model after that. Now let’s fast forward to 2016 and the Jordan Brand was so gracious to bless us with the Air Jordan 31, and I fell back in love.
The year was 1999 and I was a senior at Screven County High. I can remember clearly, the excitement and exclusiveness I felt stepping through the hallways rocking the “Laney’s“. Back then, everyone rocked the same colorways. Either your joints incorporated some mix of black, white, or red. That was the norm, yet the “Laney’s” changed all that for me. I no longer wanted the “safe” colorways, I wanted to step outside of the box. The “Laney’s” gave me that opportunity. The inspiration for this shoe came from MJ’s high school (Laney High School). That “varsity royal” color stood out and would snatch the attention of anyone who laid eyes on the shoe. Yet 15 years later, they are set to return on October 3rd, to reign supreme again. The Air Jordan 14 has always been one of my favorites, and the “Laney” colorway was the favorite of the 14’s. With a price point of $170, I’m sure these retros won’t stay on the shelves long.
